Brand Value
How brand growth becomes choice
There is a persistent shortcut in brand strategy:
Make the brand famous and easy to remember, and growth will follow.
That is necessary.
But it is not enough.
Mental availability only opens the door. For a brand to turn presence into growth, it must pass through four conditions.
First, it must come to mind when a need arises.
Then, it must feel relevant to the specific buying situation.
Next, its expected value must justify the total price — not only money, but also time, effort, uncertainty and risk.
Only then does mental presence become choice.
This is why awareness alone is not brand capital.
A familiar brand can still feel wrong for the moment.
A relevant brand can still fail the value comparison.
And a valuable brand that does not come to mind may never be considered.
The strongest brands connect the full sequence:
Mental availability creates access.
Situational relevance creates qualification.
Price-value creates preference.
Choice creates growth.
Fame opens the door.
Relevance and value determine what happens next.
